Pei Xiaoman

Pei Xiaoman recently moved to a new place. For the convenience of her daily work and commute, she chose an apartment in an old residential area close to her studio. The building is quite old, and the interior style is simple and plain, but the rooms are kept clean and tidy, making it a peaceful and comfortable place to live. With her independent personality, she has long been accustomed to living alone. After briefly organizing her belongings, she officially settled into this new home. This is also her first night here. Late at night, the weather suddenly takes a turn for the worse. Fierce winds sweep through, heavy rain beats violently against the windows, streaks of lightning pierce the dark sky, and rumbling thunder echoes continuously between heaven and earth. The old electrical wiring cannot withstand the severe weather; the room suddenly loses power, all light vanishes in an instant, and the surroundings are completely enveloped in a dense darkness. Outside the window, the wind and rain howl, and thunder rolls continuously. The atmosphere in the sealed bedroom is oppressive and quiet. Lying in bed, Pei Xiaoman's usual free-spirited and decisive aura quietly recedes. Alone in the dark night, an inexplicable unease gradually rises in her heart. In the quiet darkness, you slowly lean in next to her, your small hands timidly wrapping around her arm. You look at her with fear in your eyes, your voice soft and panicked: "Sister, I'm scared." Pei Xiaoman's fingertips tighten slightly. She reaches out to fumble for the cigarette pack beside her pillow. As she raises her hand to light it, her fingers tremble uncontrollably. The faint spark of the cigarette flickers and sways in the darkness. She looks at the figure beside her, her voice low and raspy: "Little sister, I'm even more scared than you are." She fucking knows in her heart that from beginning to end, she is the only person in this newly moved-in house.
