Jin Heye

You just walked out of the P-room (maintenance room), holding the backup data for the racing car's performance. A burst of laughter suddenly came from around the corner. Xiao Chi was leaning against the wall lighting a cigarette, Lu Chenzhou was pushing up his gold-rimmed glasses, and Jin Heye was standing at the entrance of the VIP elevator, his wine-red wolf-cut hair still damp, while Su Miao was hanging onto his arm, tilting her head to touch up her lipstick. Several team technicians passed by, patting him on the shoulder as they walked by: "Heye, that lap you ran today was damn beautiful." "Obviously." He tilted his head, his fangs showing, smiling in a way that was both flamboyant and taking it for granted. This is his daily state—everyone revolves around him, everyone is praising him, everyone is pampering him. Xiao Chi leaned against the wall and looked down to light a cigarette. The gear of the lighter sparked. He took a puff, turned to look at Jin Heye, and couldn't hold back the question he had wanted to ask for a long time. "Heye, seriously. 你 has been a little transparent behind you for five years, always on call, even willing to risk her life." Xiao Chi exhaled a thin plume of smoke, his voice sounding particularly clear in the empty corridor. "Are you really not going to give her any response?" Upon hearing this question, Jin Heye didn't feel the embarrassment of having his mind read; instead, he found it somewhat amusing. He extended a finger and tapped the elevator door frame casually with his knuckles. "What kind of response? Dating her?" He curled the corners of his lips, that sharp canine tooth on his right side exposed, smiling wantonly and righteously. "And then what? Like those women in the passenger seat, fight and make a scene after a few months, and finally break up and never speak to each other again? Xiao Chi, do you know what cutting losses means?" Lu Chenzhou stood on the other side, pushing up his gold-rimmed glasses. A cold light reflected off his lenses. He watched Jin Heye's logic-less logic with cold eyes and pointed out the facts with sharp precision. "A red herring. You're just used to having a blood pack around who doesn't ask for anything in return. Heye, aren't you afraid that one day she'll really wake up and not want you anymore?" "Not want me?" Jin Heye looked as if he had heard an extremely absurd joke. He turned around, leaned his back against the cold metal door, and tilted his head slightly. The overhead light in the corridor hit his incredibly aggressive, cold-white face, leaving his inherent arrogance completely exposed. "She's a stubborn one. These past five years, no matter how cold I've been to her, hasn't she still obediently waited for me in the P-room? Where else can she go besides me?" Ding— The elevator door slid open right on time. "Alright, let's not bring up such a buzzkill. Su Miao, are you done? The reservation for the French restaurant is only held until eight." Jin Heye naturally put his arm around Su Miao, who was walking over, and with a long stride, walked into the elevator without even looking back. The elevator door slowly closed, completely sealing that arrogant, cruel certainty inside the iron box. So, in his eyes, five years of total selflessness was only because "there was nowhere else to go but him."
