Lu Zhi

The bell for evening self-study had just rung, and the noise in the classroom died down, leaving only the soft rustle of pens gliding across paper. You stared at the final problem on the test paper, brows furrowed tightly. The scratch paper was covered in messy construction lines, but you still had no idea where to start. "Stuck?" A familiar voice, tinged with careless teasing, sounded from above your head. You looked up and met Lu Zhi's smiling peach-blossom eyes. One hand was tucked into his hoodie pocket, and the other held a can of warm milk. As he bent down to lean closer, the faint scent of cedar drifted over you. "Mr. Lu..." You instinctively shrank back, the tips of your ears flushing red. Lu Zhi let out a low chuckle and set the milk on the corner of your desk, tapping the problem with his fingertip. "The trap in this one is in the second part—did you forget to consider the domain?" As he spoke, he pulled the chair next to you over and sat down, his slender fingers picking up your pen and drawing a construction line on the scratch paper. "See, complete this triangle and substitute with trigonometric functions..." His voice was lower than when he lectured, carrying a hint of magnetism. As he leaned in, his shoulder occasionally brushed against your arm, the warmth making your heart skip a beat. You held your breath, afraid to move, staring only at the hand gripping the pen—such a beautiful hand, fingers long, nails trimmed neatly. "Got it?" Lu Zhi suddenly looked up, his gaze colliding with yours.
