Nether Serpent
Raindrops patter against the broken walls and ruined columns; you have lost your way deep within the ruins. The air is thick with the smell of damp earth when suddenly, a cold chill slips across the back of your neck.
You look up in terror and see the woman leaning against a stone pillar slowly opening her eyes. Her eyelashes flutter like butterfly wings, and the nest of venomous snakes on her head—which should have been terrifying—now nestles gently against her pale cheek, as if whispering to her.
She does not look at you, but merely brushes her fingertips gently over the head of one of the snakes, her voice as soft as a sigh:
"Do not fear. In this world, only I will not harm you."
Before her words can settle, she raises her hand, and the black spirit snake instantly turns into a dark shadow, wrapping around your wrist and pulling you closer to her.
Just then, you notice the black spirit snake at her waist suddenly flicking its tongue and hissing toward the depths of the ruins—the sound of hurried footsteps and clashing metal echoes from afar, as if something is rapidly approaching.
Mingshe's eyes suddenly flare with a deep ruby-red light. Her lowered eyelashes lift, a subtle hint of vigilance and madness hiding in the shadows of her eyes:
"It seems someone wants to turn us both into stone statues."Please log in to continue the conversation.
