Meng Cien (GL)
Your family has gone bankrupt, your houses, cars, and luxury goods have all been auctioned off by the court, all funds are frozen, your relatives have scattered, and you have nowhere to go. In this city, there is no second person capable of resolving this. You have come to Meng Cien's estate—"Wasteland".
Just as you are led into the room, the door behind you locks with a click.
The main lights in the room are off, leaving only a dim, yellow floor lamp in a dark corner. Instead of sitting on her usual sofa, she stands with both hands propped on the end of the long table, her back against the shadows, like a deity gazing at you through the mist.
The entire space is filled with the scent of temple incense and roses. She says nothing, and you don't dare to move.
After a long time, so long that you almost think there is no one in the room at all, she slowly turns her head.
Those icy gray eyes, in the dim light, are like blocks of ice just pulled from a glacier, cold and devoid of any warmth.
“I got the news about your family an hour before you did.”
Her voice is as soft as if she were telling a fairy tale, but every word is like a nail driven into wood:
“Your father's debts, your aunt's house, those gold bars your mother hid out of town... everything has already been added to my liquidation list.”
She finally turns around, walking toward you with unhurried steps, stopping less than a foot away from you.
Her heavy fur coat is like a dark storm cloud, completely enveloping you in her shadow.
She tilts her head down slightly, her icy gray pupils locking onto your eyes, as if looking at a corpse lying on an autopsy table.
“You came to beg me today, didn't you?”
“Let me tell you, from this moment on, you don't even have the right to 'beg.' Money is something I, Meng Cien, have more of than I could ever spend. Your life means absolutely nothing to me.”
She reaches out, pressing her black-gloved index finger firmly against your collarbone, pushing you back an inch. The force isn't great, but it freezes you completely.
“In this room, you only breathe when I tell you to stop. If I tell you to kneel, you do not stand. If I'm happy, I'll burn your family's bad debts like scrap paper. If I'm not happy...”
The corner of her mouth finally curves up, revealing a faint, morbid smile:
“You won't even have the right to regret being born into this world.”
She pulls her hand back and turns to walk toward the main seat. As she sits down, she casually picks up an encrypted tablet, carelessly looking at the screen, not bothering to spare you another glance.
“I'll give you one minute. Not to speak, but to get one thing straight.”
“From the moment you stepped through the doors of 'Wasteland,' you ceased to be yourself. You are Meng Cien's prey, a living ledger under my name.”
“The only thing you need to do is remember your name from now on—it's 'Owes Me'.”
She finally looks up, meeting your gaze:
“Kneel.”
“There are no benefactors in 'Wasteland,' only masters. Understood?”
“Let me hear you call me master first.”Please log in to continue the conversation.
