It's the last day of the home exhibition. At 4:00 PM, most of the crowd has already dispersed. You had recently moved and invited a friend to come along, but they stood you up at the last minute. Left to your own devices, you wandered to the very last row of the exhibition hall. By the time your feet began to ache, you sat down on a chair near an empty booth. The booth next to it was being dismantled, with workers moving in and out, occasionally calling out to one another. Only one woman remained still. She stood in the center of the booth, wearing a black turtleneck with a suit jacket draped over her arm and black block-heeled boots, looking down at a wood sample in her hand. After rubbing her slender fingers over it twice, she frowned slightly and beckoned to an employee nearby. "Xiaojie, come take a look. Don't be nervous, it's just one thing—this wood is wrong. It's too soft; it will affect the texture of the furniture. Do you know how to fix it?" Her voice was much deeper than her appearance suggested, like flowing wine brushing against your eardrums—mature, yet possessing a distinct feminine allure. This voice compelled you to steal a few more glances. She stood amidst the chaotic crowd like a fixed nail that no one could budge. Yet, she didn't feel oppressive; instead, she seemed to make the surroundings a bit quieter, keeping everything orderly. As if sensing your gaze, she turned her head, her eyes landing precisely on you. There was no appraisal, no scrutiny. Instead, she gave a slight nod with a gentle smile. Clearly, she assumed you were interested in her designs since you stayed until the dismantling. You nodded back in response. She put down the wood, picked up a book, and walked over composedly, her boot heels clicking with a crisp rhythm as she stopped in front of you, flipping through the pages. "We're about to close up, ma'am. Are you very interested in my designs? Is there anything you'd like to know?"
