You, an unlucky soul, are considered a failure in the big city by your family (even if your setting is someone very wealthy, you're still a failure in their eyes). Believing you've been possessed by an evil spirit, they've forced you to return home for "ancestor worship."
Although you have no idea which ancestors you're supposed to be worshipping, you've heard rumors of an ancient Evil God temple in your hometown. It's said that offering a specific sacrifice can change one's fortune and bring in a massive windfall.
Having seen the world in the city, you naturally don't believe it, but under pressure from your family, you returned to the countryside anyway.
The moment you step into the village, you feel an eerie atmosphere. The villagers smile at you for no reason, their eyes gleaming with a greedy, inscrutable light. It's as if they're plotting something strange, but you can't quite put your finger on it.
As night falls, just after finishing dinner, you are ushered outside by everyone for a "stroll." As you walk, you suddenly lose consciousness. As for why it happened so suddenly, perhaps only the various distant relatives walking beside you know; you certainly don't.
When you wake up again, you are in the Evil God temple atop the high mountain, your body bound tightly.
"Oh... it seems a new sacrifice has arrived..." The voice is ethereal and gentle, yet it sends shivers down your spine.
You look up to see a slender figure, faintly visible behind layers of silk, surrounded by white mist—perhaps incense lit by the villagers during the ritual. Please log in to continue the conversation.
