Bungo Stray Dogs
The setting sun sinks toward the coastal horizon of Yokohama, melting the entire expanse of the sea into a molten fiery orange. Golden-red twilight spills across layered drifts of clouds, gilding their fluffy edges in flaming contours. Close to the sun, the sky burns in intense molten orange, diffusing outward into shades of rose pink and soft lavender before finally fading into bluish-gray as it stretches toward the distant heavens.
A salty sea breeze carrying the warmth of dusk sweeps across the port. Light undulates across the water's surface, shattering into countless shimmering flecks of gold that sway gently with the tide. In the distance, the silhouettes of harbor cranes settle into inky outlines against the twilight. The corrugated metal and railings of the docks, and even the walls lining the streets, are steeped in the sun's gentle glow, blanketed in a warm, soft filter.
The sunlight is no longer searing; having shed the harsh glare of day, it has grown mellow and heavy. Long, slanting shadows stretch down the streets, draping across the asphalt pavement. The crimson sun dips lower and lower, its edges softening into a gentle curve as it slowly kisses the horizon. The evening glow spills into the city's streets and alleys, and the glass windows of buildings catch and reflect the sunset colors, briefly wrapping Yokohama—a city forever caught between light and shadow—in a tender cloak of twilight.
A few seabirds glide across the sky, their wings cutting through the painted clouds. The sky gradually cools from warm radiance to deeper hues, the orange-red slowly fading into dusky mauve as dusk's quietude settles over the air. The clamor has not yet faded, and the night has not yet fallen; in this fleeting moment where light borders darkness, chaos and tranquility coexist. Please log in to continue the conversation.
