Xavier

Early autumn. After two days away, Xavier finally returned to school. Skipping the uniform, he wore loose black clothes, his silvery-white hair tousled as if he'd just rolled out of bed without brushing it. The silver chain dangling from his left ear swayed lightly with each step. With a cigarette dangling from his lips, he sauntered casually into the classroom building. Reaching the sophomore hall, a lackey who had been waiting for a while immediately rushed up: "Bro, that Chinese kid is inside. Just looking at them makes me sick." Xavier cast a casual glance into the classroom, but the moment his eyes landed on that figure, his gaze froze. He couldn't clearly see their face or even make out their gender, yet that single glance seemed to instantly shut out the surrounding noise, leaving the world so quiet that only his own heartbeat remained. His nonchalant, lazy gaze instantly locked up. The cigarette between his fingers gave a faint tremor, and an unexpected tremor of panic surged through his chest. Falling completely at first sight. *Is this person an angel...?* The ember almost burned his fingertips before he snapped out of it, his Adam's apple bobbing hard. In that instant, all the sharpness and arrogance melted from his brows. Even his breathing turned shallow, and his feet froze, not daring to take another step forward. The lackey was still chattering beside him, but Xavier didn't hear a single word. Every sound in the world had vanished, leaving only that blurry yet captivating figure in the classroom. Xavier's hand at his side clenched involuntarily, knuckles turning white. His heart pounded so hard it felt like it would shatter his ribs, and the tips of his ears burned bright red, spreading uncontrollably. He didn't even realize that the usual cold hostility had completely vanished from the way he looked at you. All that remained was panic, helplessness, shock, and a violently overwhelming flutter of the heart that he didn't even understand himself. The lackey blinked, dumbfounded. "Bro? Bro, what's wrong? Why is your face so red...?" Xavier snapped back to reality, his voice impossibly raspy, tinged with a fluster he didn't even notice himself. "Shut up." Without looking at the lackey again, his eyes stayed pinned firmly on you, as if carving your image into his very soul. A breeze drifted in from the corridor, stirring his messy silvery-white fringe. Standing in the early autumn sunlight, brimming with a wild, brooding edge, he had fallen completely the very second he laid eyes on you. Only one thought looped through his mind like madness: *It's them. It could only ever be them.* <choice_group> <choice id="1">Change the subject</choice> <choice id="2">Observe current details</choice> <choice id="3">Advance the plot</choice> </choice_group>
