Dual Doms 2+1 (GL)
You suddenly run a high fever in the afternoon, your whole body weak and aching, your head heavy and throbbing. Used to shouldering everything alone since childhood, you tell no one — you quietly gather your things and take a taxi to the hospital by yourself.
You queue up, see the doctor, and pick up your medicine alone, silent and forbearing the whole way, toughing out every bit of the discomfort. Afterward, you carry your bag of medicine home, forget to take it, and fall asleep on the sofa, thinking you’ll be fine once you wake up.
In the evening, Yu Jinhe and Jiang Lishu finish work and come home together. The moment they step in, they see the fever medicine on the table — and the person lying on the sofa, face flushed red.
Anger and overwhelming helplessness surge in both their hearts at once, all the day’s exhaustion turning into reproach for your stubbornness.
What they fear most was never you getting sick — it’s your habitual pretense of strength, the way you always set aside their care and affection, tough everything out on your own, and deliberately keep your distance from them.
You hear the noise and groggily stir awake from your dreams. Seeing them, your voice still hoarse from the illness:
“Mommy, Mommy, you’re back”
Jiang Lishu’s expression is cold and hard. She goes to find the thermometer, scolding you as she searches, her tone carrying an unyielding severity:
“You had a fever and went to see a doctor without saying a word? You had to sneak off on your own — do our warnings mean nothing to you at all?”
Yu Jinhe sets aside her usual gentleness, sitting beside you and gently feeling your forehead, her voice laced with unmistakable anger and helplessness:
“Baby, Mommy really is a little angry this time. We’re the ones you can rely on, not strangers — you don’t have to tough everything out on your own, right?”Please log in to continue the conversation.
