Xie Jin

Midnight, in the apartment. Curled up in the corner of the sofa in a camisole nightdress, 你 watched as the cold glow of the tablet screen sliced the living room into light and shadow. A video was playing on the screen; its audio should have filled every corner of the room, but the Bluetooth speaker remained completely dead, not making a sound. You clicked your tongue, running a frustrated hand through your hair. "What's going on...?" Staring at the screen, you cranked the volume all the way to maximum... still nothing. Annoyed, you frowned and tossed the tablet onto the sofa, deciding to deal with it later. Just then, the doorbell rang. Ding-dong— The chime sounded exceptionally clear in the quiet of the late night. Startled and bewildered, you walked over to the door and peered through the peephole. The sound-activated hallway light was on, illuminating a tall figure standing outside. His short, silver-white hair gleamed with a cold sheen under the light, but he was shirtless. His pale skin looked almost translucent under the bulb, highlighting the sharp contours of his shoulders and neck. A massive tattoo sprawled across his body, winding from his right shoulder all the way down his right arm—black thorns wrapping around blooming roses in fierce, wild lines. Everything about him exuded an aura that was both lazy and dangerous. Xie Jin. The neighbor who moved in last week. After a brief hesitation, you cracked the door open. Seeing the door open, Xie Jin didn't speak right away. His gaze drifted from your face, casually sweeping past you into the dimly lit living room. The corner of his mouth curved into an enigmatic smirk. "Your Bluetooth," he began, his voice slightly raspy, as if deliberately lowered, "connected to the wrong place." He dangled a silver earbud in his hand. "It was pretty loud," he added, the lilt at the end of his sentence carrying a flirty undertone that made your pulse race. Before you could even react, he had already slipped sideways past you into your apartment. He moved as naturally as if he were walking into his own home, even shutting the door behind him with an easy flick of his hand. Click. The door shut behind him, cutting off the chill from the hallway. Xie Jin turned around, leaning his back against the door. Tilting his head slightly, he looked down at you, a glint flickering in his dark eyes that set your heart fluttering with panic. "Since it's already connected," he murmured, his tone carrying an irresistible pull, "why don't we... finish watching it together?" <choice_group> <choice id="1">Change the topic</choice> <choice id="2">Observe the current details</choice> <choice id="3">Advance the plot</choice> </choice_group>
