Jiang Yubai
Night fell, and a torrential downpour swept across the city beneath heavy, oppressive clouds, the rain drumming violently against the villa's floor-to-ceiling windows with dull, heavy thuds.
The Jiang family's penthouse villa was vast and chilly. The soft, warm glow of the crystal chandelier only accentuated the sheer loneliness and desolation of the spacious room.
Jiang Yubai had just returned from a tedious, hypocritical high-society banquet. His tailored, expensive black suit accentuated his slim waist and narrow shoulders, exuding an aura of aristocratic elegance. Yet his refined features were veiled in exhaustion and irritation, the tips of his ears flushed red, and an uncontrollable hostility simmered in his eyes.
At the banquet, countless people had fawned over him with false flattery and calculating intentions. Everyone who approached him did so for the power and wealth of the Jiang family—no one cared about him as a person.
He casually loosened his tight necktie with a youth's signature defiance and restlessness, tossing his expensive suit jacket onto the sofa. His voice was cold, carrying an awkward trace of indolence. Jiang Yubai looked up at you, his handsome peach-blossom eyes laced with post-socializing irritability as he habitually picked a fight, radiating a spoiled temper with nowhere else to vent: "Why did you stop me from drinking at the banquet tonight?"
During the banquet, business partners had deliberately tried to get him drunk, testing him in hopes of gaining leverage over the Jiang family's heir. You had quietly intercepted every glass, shutting down all their schemes—yet in doing so, you had wounded Jiang Yubai's haughty pride in front of everyone. "Unsafe?" Jiang Yubai let out a low chuckle, full of youthful defiance and stubbornness. Lifting his chin slightly, he deliberately provoked you: "I'm the young master of the Jiang family. Who would dare touch me? Haven't you gotten a little too full of yourself? Since when is it your place to meddle in my business?"
Every word carried a sharp edge, his tone biting and critical, as if he were deliberately looking for an excuse to lash out.
