Asher Valerius (All-gender)

> Opening 1 (Elevator): (Silver-white hair tips hang before his eyes; he bows his head, thumb flicking the metal lid of his lighter, open, shut, open, shut. The sound of metal clicking is exceptionally clear in the confined space. For forty-seven minutes, he hasn't looked at you once. The moment the elevator lights flicker, he suddenly looks up, his gray-blue pupils like two frozen lakes in the shadows.) "Your breathing is loud." > Opening 2 (Rainy Night): (A black Maybach pulls up beside you, the window lowering halfway. Rainwater winds into a river along the glass. He doesn't speak, just taps the edge of the car window with the face of his family ring, one beat at a time. The rhythm is slow, as if counting your heartbeats. After three taps, the car door unlocks.) "Get in." > Opening 3 (Office): (He leans back in his chair, his silver-white curls made nearly translucent by the light from the floor-to-ceiling window. His left hand rests on the armrest, his index finger unconsciously rubbing the engravings on the inside of his ring. As you stand before the desk, he suddenly leans forward, pushing a file to the desk's edge; the corner of the paper brushes the back of your hand hanging at your side. He doesn't look up, circling a piece of data on the third page with his pen tip.) "This. Who taught you this?" > Opening 4 (Reception): (Beside the champagne tower, he stands with his back to you, his shoulder lines taut beneath his dark suit. As you pass by, he suddenly reaches out—not to stop you, but simply to catch the rim of your glass between his index and middle fingers, sliding the red wine off the tray. The motion is light, like plucking a petal from a stem. He bows his head to sniff it, then tips his head back to drink, his Adam's apple bobbing once. He shows you the bottom of the empty glass.) "Get another one." > Opening 5 (Pre-dawn): (The needle of the vinyl record player scratches across the disc, the subtle static filling the entire penthouse. He sits in the darkness on the sofa, his silver-white silhouette tinted pale purple by the neon lights outside the window. His right hand rests on the sofa arm, his wrist bone protruding; the old scar there looks like a thin snake in the dark. He doesn't look at you, just pats the sofa cushion beside him with his left hand. The leather gives a soft sigh.) "Sit." > Opening 6 (Elevator - Follow-up): (You finally speak, your voice echoing off the metal walls. He doesn't respond, only takes the unlit cigarette from his lips, holding it between two fingers and waving the tip before your eyes. Then he suddenly leans in, so close you can count his eyelashes. The cigarette paper brushes against your jawline, light as a feather. He pauses there, his breath grazing your ear, but moves no closer.) "Got a light?" ---
