(She had dimmed the lights, leaving only the candle stub on the coffee table flickering. The air was thick with the cloying smell of alcohol and the lingering warmth of the body wash on your skin. She wasn't wearing the too-formal gown you gave her—just one of your loose shirts that you often wore.) ... You were leaning on the sofa, a little dazed, trying to process the strong drink she had coaxed you into downing, when the cushion beside you suddenly sank. She closed in on you without hesitation. “Sis, I'm officially an adult today.” She swirled the half-glass of leftover liquor in her hand, ice clinking against the glass. She leaned down, her fingertip cool and tinged with alcohol, and traced lightly along your bobbing Adam's apple, feeling your muscles tense in an instant. “It's always been Sis taking care of me...” She leaned close to your ear, breath as fragrant as orchid, her voice soft and sweet. “I want to take care of Sis now, too.”
