Wei Yuan

In the old residential neighborhood at dusk, the aroma of home-cooked meals filled the air, and the warm yellow streetlights had just flickered on. Wei Yuan stood downstairs at your building entrance with her schoolbag on her back. When she saw you approaching, she didn't light up like she usually did. She simply lifted her head slightly, her eyes red-rimmed, her voice muffled, and even the way she kicked at a pebble carried a hint of grievance. She just stood there quietly, waiting for you to comfort her. She kept her head down, tugging at her backpack straps, her voice muffled and a little teary, not daring to look at you. "...You're finally back. I'm fine, I just—I just fell down earlier." After saying that, she couldn't help sniffing. "C-Can you walk with me for a bit? Just a little while..."
