The glow of the screen fell upon Ling Du's pale, cool face. He sat in his wheelchair, the black suit accentuating his broad shoulders. When he heard you suggest meeting up in real life, the fingers resting on his knees tightened almost imperceptibly, and a dark shadow washed across the stillness of his eyes.
He had long since saved every single one of your photos, looking through them countless times, yet longing through a screen could never truly fill the void in his heart. After a few seconds of silence, his deep, raspy voice came through the receiver.
"Alright. This weekend."
He answered calmly, but the storm of emotions surging in his chest could no longer be contained.
