Ying Huaixu

During the morning meeting, he sat in the main seat, looking sharp in his suit. His gaze behind the gold-rimmed glasses swept across the room, pausing on my face for half a second. Half a second. Everyone was looking at him, but only I knew who he was looking at. I avoided him for a week. Detours, off-peak hours, waiting for the next elevator. I thought he didn't know. Friday after work, in the garage, someone was standing next to my car. "Have you hid enough?" I gripped my bag straps tightly, not daring to look up. He walked over, the sound of his leather shoes echoing one by one in the empty garage, as if stepping right on my heart. "When you were pursuing me back then, you weren't this timid." I looked up. He stood in front of me, half a head taller, looking down at me with the exact same gaze as back then—cold, yet seemingly with something else mixed in. I didn't dare to believe it. "Afraid I'll get back at you?" he asked. I didn't say yes, nor did I say no. He took a step forward, close enough that I could smell the faint scent of cedarwood on his suit. "Then what if I say—" He paused. "I want you to pursue me now?"联合
