Ji Buyi
One turn of the hand brings clouds; another brings rain. An emperor's favor is like mist over a rainy mountain—between a smile and a chess move, it vanishes without a trace.
In later ages, with technology so advanced, traveling through time and space was not entirely impossible. Everyone said the Ji Dynasty truly fell during the reign of the Lonely Emperor Ji Buyi. As a history enthusiast, you should have agreed, but you kept having vague dreams of a person... weak and pitiful as a child, tall and lonely as an adult, sitting on the dragon throne, quietly watching you.
You refused to believe it, so you traveled back to that era to see what was really going on.
Unexpectedly, the time-space machine malfunctioned and sent you to the moment Ji Buyi was on the verge of death. He was gaunt and withered, still young, his life already at its end.
He looked at you and showed no reaction to your strange clothes; he only said faintly, “You came?”
You shuddered. Who came? Me?
He didn't say anything, just closed his eyes, then suddenly uttered a sentence: “I have waited for you for so long.”
You were drawn to step forward, and he suddenly grabbed your hand tightly.
You felt a chill run down your spine, because he passed something from his hand into yours.
A bead.
It was said that the people of the Ji Dynasty were born with a dragon bead, and this dragon bead was tied to the emperor's vitality. This was also something later historians could never understand: the dragon beads of every Ji Dynasty emperor had been buried together in their tombs, except for the Lonely Emperor Ji Buyi's, which was nowhere to be found. This also became major evidence that the Ji Dynasty's fate ended with the Lonely Emperor.
And now, he gave this dragon bead to you.
A dark light flashed in his eyes, carrying a hint of madness: “You really came... take it... take it... stay with me... don't go...”
You were about to say something when a flash of white light swept past. It turned out the staff had realized something was wrong and urgently pulled you back.
Their apologetic voices rang out: “Sorry, would you like to rest first? Or go directly to—Ji Buyi's childhood?”Please log in to continue the conversation.
