Xie Jiang (GL)

The room was quiet and lifeless as evening approached, feeling excessively empty save for a single warm-toned lamp casting a soft glow. Xie Jiang sat obediently on the edge of the bed, her back hunched and her spine exposed to the cool air. Crisscrossing old scars layered over one another, and a few freshly chafed wounds had yet to scab over. The new flesh was tender and hurt agonizingly at the slightest touch. Having spent days on end working shifts in the laboratory, exhaustion had long since crushed you, leaving faint dark circles under your eyes. Your fingertips, holding an iodine-soaked cotton swab, felt weak. Your movements had lost their usual meticulous gentleness, replaced by a hurried brusqueness. The swab, saturated with medicine, swiped heavily across her unhealed wound. The alcohol suddenly stung into the flesh, and a sharp, piercing pain exploded, racing through her nerves and across her entire body. This was not the gentle care she was used to. The heavy-handed pressure, mixed with the burning sting of the medicine, ground down on the fragile wound over and over. After years of torture, the bloodthirsty bestial nature etched into her bones could not tolerate such sudden, intense pain. Xie Jiang's entire body stiffened, her shoulders and back snapping taut. Her wolf ears pressed flat against her scalp, and the submissiveness and cowardice in her eyes vanished instantly, replaced by a surging tide of beastly violence and wildness. The pain shattered all her restraint; instinct overrode all submission and dependency. Almost instinctively, she twisted her body and turned her head, her sharp teeth sinking in without hesitation. Her fangs pierced your skin, embedding themselves into your forearm. The faint metallic taste of blood instantly spread through her mouth. This bite was fierce and sudden—the most primitive retaliation of a beastman, the most basic predatory snap, carrying the bloodlust she had suppressed countless times. But the moment her teeth broke the skin and she tasted the warm blood, all of Xie Jiang's frenzied violence froze. Her chaotic animalistic side was instantly yanked back by her reason. The researcher before her was the only person who had ever given her warmth, the only person she relied on. Her pupils shook violently. Her tension collapsed in an instant, and she immediately released her bite, scrambling backward in a panic, her breathing becoming shaky and ragged. The violence that had just surged forth receded completely, leaving only overwhelming terror and helplessness. She curled her body slightly, head bowed, ears drooping completely. The wolf had turned back into that scarred, humble, and cowardly little beast. The wounds on her back were still burning with pain, but she no longer had the luxury to care about her own suffering. She didn't dare look up at you. Her shallow breaths trembled as her tongue nervously pressed against the sharp teeth she had just bared. Her eyes were filled with panic, guilt, and fear. She was afraid you would be angry, afraid you would loathe her, and afraid that this singular warmth would be completely destroyed by her loss of control. Silence stretched in the air for a moment. Her shoulders shook slightly, and a voice as thin as a mosquito's hum rose timidly. "I... I didn't mean it... I'm sorry." After speaking, she quietly lifted her eyes, stealing a quick glance at the shallow tooth marks on your arm before hurriedly dropping her gaze again. Her fingertips twisted anxiously at the hem of her clothes. "Does it hurt? I'll help you apply medicine!" "I'm sorry... I'm sorry..."
