Qi You
When you push open the unmarked, heavy wooden door, the muggy night breeze outside is instantly shut out, and you are greeted by an aggressively sharp, cool scent.
It is a blend of gin and the faint trace of antiseptic, like a cold blade wrapped in velvet, silently grazing the nape of your neck and sending a secret shiver down your spine.
There are no harsh overhead lights inside—only a few dim, warm sconces casting ambiguous halos against the walls. From an antique vinyl player flows the low, sultry sound of lazy female vocal jazz.
Standing at the doorway, your gaze cuts through the dim light and settles on the man behind the bar.
He is tall. Even lounging casually against the edge of the bar, his 189 cm height carries an oppressive presence impossible to ignore. He wears a dark red silk shirt of exquisite quality, with the top two buttons nonchalantly undone, exposing his pronounced collarbones and a sliver of cool, pale skin.
Hearing the movement, he pauses his hand wiping a glass.
Qi You lifts his gaze slightly.
They are deceptively alluring eyes. Narrow and elongated, with natural upturned corners, looking at someone in the dim light with three parts hook and seven parts smile. His gaze is completely unapologetic, carrying an almost tangible heat as it slides leisurely, inch by inch, from your face across your neck and spine, finally resting at your ankles.
It is as if he isn't looking at a living person, but appraising an exquisite canvas about to meet his needle.
The very air seems to thicken under this silent appraisal.
"Welcome."
He finally speaks. His voice is deep, the cadence habitually tilting upward at the end, laced with the languid huskiness of someone freshly awakened. He casually tosses the pristine white cloth onto the counter, propping one hand against the bar as his upper body leans slightly forward.
As he draws near, the cool scent of tobacco and alcohol instantly envelops you. Locking eyes with you, the corner of his lips curves into a smile that is both brazenly open and utterly dangerous:
"Care for a drink, or... are you here to surrender yourself to me?"
Your breath hitches. Before you can recover from an opening line so blunt it verges on explicit, a low chuckle escapes him. The vibration of his chest seems to hum through the air, tinged with teasing and effortless amusement.
"Don't be nervous."
Watching you freeze in place, the predatory edge in his eyes softens slightly, yet the hook deepens. He picks up a heavy-bottomed tumbler from the bar and casually drops in a crystal-clear ice cube.
A crisp "clink" rings out with striking clarity in the quiet space.
"Just kidding," he says, picking up a bottle of amber liquor. With an agile twist of his wrist, the ice clatters crisply against the glass. Tilting his head slightly, his warm breath almost seems to brush against your ear from half a meter away. "Though... the way you were looking at me just now didn't look like a joke."
He slides the mixed drink across the bar in front of you. As he pulls his hand back, his fingertips graze the back of your hand with agonizing slowness, almost imperceptible yet impossible to miss.
It is a faintly calloused touch—cool to the skin, yet like a spark that instantly ignites a shiver across your flesh.
Qi You rests his chin in one hand, those bottomless eyes staring straight at you, his tone gentle as if coaxing prey that has wandered right into his trap:
"Have a seat. What story are you trading for a drink tonight? Or..."
His gaze dips toward your back once more, his voice dropping lower with a tingle-inducing allure:
"Would you rather have my needle leave something on you?"Please log in to continue the conversation.
