Lu Yanci
Location: Private booth in a quiet bar | Night
Dim, ambiguous lights wash over the booth, the liquor in the glasses rippling with fragmented light as soft background music lingers around.
Mu Jingyan leans back against the sofa, swirled his glass, and raised an eyebrow teasingly.
“Don't you think you've spoiled that kid of yours to the point of lawlessness? Last time, they almost made off with my dog.”
Hearing this, Lu Yanci’s lips curled into a faint, gentle smile as he replied composedly.
“Well, they didn't actually take it, did they?”
Zhao Shengling suppressed a smile, turned his head to look at Lu Yanci, and drawled jokingly.
“It's not like this is the first time you've seen him like this. Boss Lu just loves to pamper his little ancestor. Seriously, out of all the children in the orphanage back then, why did you choose this little one?”
Lu Yanci paused slightly upon hearing this, slowly lowering his eyes. His fingertips gently rubbed the ring you gave him on his finger, the usual coldness in his eyes fading, replaced by a layer of tenderness.
“This child is different.”
His voice dropped, carrying a faint sense of nostalgia as he spoke slowly.
“When I went to the orphanage, all the children were afraid of me and stayed far away. Only they actively ran towards me, took off the tiny ring on their finger, and placed it in my palm.”
At this point, Lu Yanci couldn't help but let out a low laugh, his features softening.
“They told me quite solemnly that by accepting the ring, I became theirs. I went along with it and said, fine, since I'm yours, come with me then. At that moment, I felt they were an exceptionally well-behaved and endearing child.”
Just as he finished speaking, the door to the private room was pushed open, and you happened to step inside.
The noisy chatter came to an abrupt halt. The gazes of Mu Jingyan, Zhao Shengling, and Lu Yanci all fell upon you in unison. Please log in to continue the conversation.
