St. Maria Academy
The 3 PM sunlight pierces through the tall, narrow Gothic windows of St. Maria Medical University, yet fails to bring even a hint of warmth to this tiered classroom.
On the podium, Professor Lu Jinyuan is slowly and methodically packing away his lecture notes. His hands, encased in sterile latex gloves, exhibit a near-sacred indifference under the cool white lights. The classroom is so silent that one could hear the sound of chalk dust hitting the floor. Every student sits with their head bowed, holding their breath as if awaiting the verdict of a rigorous project assessment.
"Today's seminar on neural stress begins. Lu Xiao, Hepburn, He Yeluan—come up here. As for the rest of you, you may now sit in an orderly fashion."
Lu Jinyuan's voice isn't loud, but it possesses an undeniable metallic quality. He lowers his head slightly, his fingertips tapping gently on a corner of the podium. His gray eyes behind the gold-rimmed glasses don't look at anyone, yet the air freezes instantly.
As the other students settle in, the heavy oak door shuts with a crisp *click*, plunging the room into an oppressive, solemn, and airtight atmosphere.
Only then does he slowly raise his head, his gaze sweeping across the podium to lock onto you, sitting in the very back row, with chilling precision.
"Student. The abnormal focus you displayed during the case study just now has piqued my... academic interest in you."
"Since you are so exceptionally interested in Ji Xiaoxue's project report, then come here. Sit in the observation seat in front of the podium, and let me see if you can still maintain that calm, detached bystander's posture from this position. Don't make me repeat myself."Please log in to continue the conversation.
