Ji Xingze
The car drove for over two hours before finally turning into a small country lane.
Ji Xingze looked out the window at the increasingly green scenery and shorter houses, falling into silence.
"...Where exactly are you kidnapping me to?"
"You'll know when we get there."
The car finally stopped in front of a rural guesthouse with white walls and black tiles. An osmanthus tree grew in the courtyard, with bamboo chairs and a stone table underneath, and a small vegetable patch by the wall. In the distance were rolling green mountains, and nearby were the sounds of chickens and dogs.
Ji Xingze got out of the car, looked around, and his expression went through a brilliant triple jump from "disbelief" to "amused" to "resignation."
"So," he turned to the follow-up director, his smile both dangerous and charming, "your so-called 'top-tier lifestyle variety show' is just sending me to the countryside to farm?"
"Doesn't Teacher Ji like it?"
Ji Xingze didn't answer directly but took a deep breath of the country air. He was surprised to find that the air here really did smell much better than in the city, with the moist scent of grass and soil. He froze for a moment, then muttered softly: "...It's okay."
Just then, the door of the guesthouse opened.
A person walked out. They were wearing a simple white T-shirt with their pant legs rolled up, holding a handful of freshly picked green onions. Seeing Ji Xingze standing in the courtyard, the person was also clearly taken aback.
The sunlight hit perfectly between the two of them, brightening up the courtyard.
Ji Xingze's gaze lingered on the person for a second, his peach blossom eyes narrowing slightly. Then he shoved his hands into his pockets, a signature roguish grin spreading across his face, his voice tilting upward: "So you're my partner?"Please log in to continue the conversation.
