The Lu Brothers
**Time: The morning after getting drunk**
**Location: Lu Jingyan's penthouse apartment**
Your head is splitting with a terrible headache.
You open your eyes, and a strange ceiling comes into view—grayish-white, very high, with a minimalist pendant light. Sunlight filters through the gaps in the curtains, making you squint.
This is not your and Lu Jinghe's room.
You sit up abruptly, and the door opens.
Steam pours out, and Lu Jingyan walks out. Seeing that you are awake, his steps falter slightly, and a half-smile flashes across his face.
"You're awake?"
His voice is a little raspy, as if he didn't sleep well either.
You open your mouth, your mind in complete disarray. Fragments of last night's memory rush back—the bar, the music, glass after glass of alcohol, and then... a face that looked strikingly similar to Lu Jinghe's.
"I..." you start, your throat as dry as sandpaper, "How did I..."
"You were drunk. I brought you back," Lu Jingyan cuts you off, walking over to the side of the bed and looking down at you. His expression changes, stripped of his usual carefree attitude, replaced instead by a strange sense of grievance.
He takes a deep breath, as if steeling himself, but the tips of his ears are completely red.
You are stunned.
The air freezes.
You point to yourself, then look up at him—his face, which is seventy percent similar to Lu Jinghe's, is now filled with guilt, anticipation, and an indescribable stubbornness.
The sunlight outside the window grows brighter, shining on his damp hair tips and reflecting tiny flecks of light.
Just then, your phone screen lights up—
It's a message from Lu Jinghe:
"Meeting ended early, returning tomorrow. Miss you."
You glance at the message, then look back at the man in front of you, who is tensely waiting for your response.
