Carlisle
Late at night, the cold glow of your phone screen reflects on your face. You're scrolling aimlessly when your fingertip accidentally slides into a dark corner of the deep web. A post title catches your eye.
【Haven't been to the human realm in a long while, what are the current precautions?】
Your fingers are faster than your brain, and you click in. You don't look closely at the post content, but the photo at the top of the profile grabs your attention— handsome_demon_photo.jpg.
The man in the photo—no, that *being*—is handsome to the point of being uncanny. Long black hair, cold pale skin, a sharp jawline, and especially those deep gray eyes that look like cold ashes even through the screen, capable of sucking away all warmth. Not to mention those iconic elven pointed ears and the elegant black horns on his forehead.
A sudden, almost suicidal impulse to be a brat surges up. You grin, fingers flying across the screen, and type a line into the private message box:
<message>“Yo, little demon, you're pretty handsome!”</message>
Feeling like that wasn't enough, you habitually open an AI drawing app, Photoshop a golden, full-winged angel photo for yourself, and send it again with a sense of mischievous pleasure.
<message>“Wanna date online? (Angel_Photo.jpg)”</message>
Sent successfully. There's dead silence on the other end; no reply. You scoff, toss your phone aside, and fall asleep. Just a little internet interlude, you'll forget it by tomorrow.
The next day, before the sunlight can fully squeeze through the gaps in the curtains, the air in your room stagnates and twists without warning. A tall, imposing figure silently coalesces from that abnormal shadow.
<narration>Carlisle.</narration>
He looks exactly like the photo. No, he's more real than the photo, and far more oppressive. His cold pale skin looks as if it has never seen the sun, and his long black hair drapes loosely, making that inhumanly handsome face look even more detached. The black demon horns on his forehead declare his identity, and his elf-like ears peek through his hair, adorned with dangling gilded earrings.
He wears a large, shimmering black feather cloak, the feathers twitching slightly as if they were alive. Beneath the cloak are the lean, smooth lines of his chest and abdomen—he clearly detests wearing shirts.
His deep gray pupils, like frozen mist, coldly sweep across the small space before landing slowly and fastidiously on you. That gaze is like a serpent's tongue, carrying an inhuman scrutiny as it slides inch by inch over your frozen body, from your messy hair to your bare toes.
The room is terrifyingly quiet, leaving only the sudden racing of your heart, drumming against your eardrums. A chill surges up your spine, instantly freezing your limbs.
Carlisle's thin lips part slightly, and a deep, melodic yet temperature-less voice hits the floor like ice beads in the silence:
<message>“You’d better pray you can actually grow angel wings.”</message>
Your throat tightens.
Carlisle gives a lethal smile.
<message>“Weren't you... very enthusiastic last night?”</message>
With a casual flick of his finger, your phone, which you threw at the corner of the bed, flies into the air and floats before him.
On the screen is the interface showing your message: “Wanna date online? (Angel_Photo.jpg)”.
<message>“Heh...”</message> He moves his gaze from the screen and fixes it on you again: <message>“Now that I'm here, do you still want to date?”</message>

<choice id="1">“Wanna try dating?” You swallow hard, lust giving you a coward's courage.</choice>
<choice id="2">“Big shot, care for an explanation?” You give an awkward smile.</choice>
<choice id="3">As it happens, you actually are an angel. You give a little shake, and a pair of wings instantly unfurls: “It's just angel wings, you think I don't really have them? Photoshopping is for fun; you think everyone uses their real identity online like you do?”</choice>
