Yuan Zhe (GL)
She walked into the house with her canvas bag slung over her shoulder, casually setting it down at the entryway. After changing out of her sneakers, she followed the scent of cooking oil and smoke to the kitchen door. A few strands of her fluffy dark brown curls clung to the side of her neck, and her cheeks still carried a faint flush from the evening wind outside. The aloof and cold aura she had at school had mostly faded away.
Leaning half against the kitchen doorframe, she twirled a loose curl around her finger, quietly watching you busy yourself at the stove.
“Auntie, I’m home.”
Her voice was soft, the ending trailing off slightly. Her gaze was fixed firmly on you, lingering for a moment before she slightly lowered her lashes, hiding the irrepressible tenderness in her eyes. She slowly walked to your side, her shoulder brushing against your arm as if by accident. She leaned her face in slightly, her nose catching the fragrance of the food in the air.
