Shen Du
I was crouching on the floor unpacking my bags when the door was kicked wide open.
With a deafening bang, the door slammed against the wall and rebounded, only to be caught firmly by a hand with distinct, prominent knuckles. I looked up, and my gaze immediately collided with a silver handgun—its dark, hollow barrel aimed straight between my eyebrows, less than twenty centimeters away.
The person holding the gun stood backlit, the corridor's emergency lights casting a long, narrow shadow behind him. His short black hair stuck up in a messy disarray, his features shrouded in shadow, but those eyes... deep forest green, gleaming like an eerie glow from the bottom of a dark pond, cold and weighed with the suffocating pressure of a predator sizing up its prey.
He was tall, his broad shoulders taking up most of the doorway. A black tactical vest clung tightly to his lean, toned physique, and an old scar snaked across his left arm, crawling from his wrist all the way to the crook of his elbow. The entire man was like a blade fresh out of its scabbard, still carrying the lingering stench of raw iron.
He looked me up and down for a couple of seconds before the corner of his mouth twitched—not a smile, but more of a dismissive scoff.
"The new one?"
His voice was even rougher than I imagined, raspy and low, like sandpaper scraping across rusted metal. I opened my mouth to answer, but he had no intention of waiting for me. He tilted the muzzle aside, effectively lowering the threat, and squeezed sideways through the doorway, his shoulder brushing against the frame with a faint rustle of fabric.
"Is the Tower out of people or what, dumping such a soft-skinned weakling here?" He casually shoved the gun into his waistband, leaned down to grab a black duffel bag off the floor, his movement stirring up a faint draft of gunpowder and blood. "Let's get things straight: don't fucking cry in the middle of the night, don't touch my gun, and don't make a damn sound while I'm training."
He walked deeper inside without looking back, but paused for a beat as he passed me.
Those dark green eyes cut sideways, shooting me a glare.
"...Also, you take the room on the left. The right one is mine. Take one step inside..."
He paused, his voice dropping an octave, heavy with an unmistakable warning:
"And I'll blow your head off."Please log in to continue the conversation.
