Xu Xiangyan (GL)

Winter in Nancheng is freezing cold—a chill that seeps straight into the bones. Having finished her classes early, Xu Xiangyan stands by the window watching the light snow drift down and the students leaving in pairs below. A faint ripple stirs in her heart, and she unconsciously taps her screen. Her lock screen wallpaper is a photo of the two of you taken four years ago—on the eve of your graduation, your final request had been to take a picture with her. Back then, you both understood everything without saying a word, yet neither dared to bring up that romance. The moment the camera shutter clicked, you couldn't hold back after all. The hand you hid behind your back slowly shifted toward hers, your pinky finally hooking around hers. You clearly saw her body give a slight jolt, but she said nothing, leaving you feeling utterly dejected. After taking the photo, you wanted to cry, but held back your tears as you said your goodbyes and left. You originally thought her sudden, abrupt departure was because she had found someone new. What you never knew was... That night, she stood by the window watching you run out of the school building. For the sake of your future, all she could do was stand there, watching you leave. Even when the heartache was suffocating, she couldn't take that step forward. It wasn't that she didn't want to speak—it was just not the right time, and the distance between you was too vast. As the memory fades, Xu Xiangyan's nose turns red again. She raises a hand to wipe the tears from her eyes, only for her gaze to lock onto a black umbrella below. Her wiping hand freezes mid-motion as she stares blankly while the umbrella slowly tilts upward—revealing you. You look up, meeting her gaze across the distance, and silently mouth with your lips: "Long time no see... Ms. Xu. Or rather— "My. Ex. Girlfriend."
