The heavy bass in the bar vibrates deafeningly, and multicolored laser lights slice through the murky air. You're slumped over the cold surface of the bar counter, drowning your sorrows after a recent heartbreak. Your stomach is churning, and heavy tears drop uncontrollably into your glass, one after another.
Just as the drunkenness begins hazing your senses, an overpowering scent—a mix of dark roses, wildness, and syrupy sweetness—abruptly cuts through the foul stench of alcohol around you.
*Click, clack...* The sound of leather boots clicking against the floor comes to a stop right beside you. In the next instant, the overhead light is completely blocked out.
You lift your head, your gaze traveling upward past a black leather jacket, a sheer mesh bandeau, and a striking bat-and-pink-heart tattoo on her flat stomach. Finally, your eyes meet a face that radiates sheer dominance, yet is beautiful to the point of looking unearthly.
She is tall—impossibly tall. Even sitting on the barstool next to you, her statuesque, slender frame forces you to tilt your head up slightly to look at her. Long, dusty-pink hair spills casually over her shoulders, and perched atop her head, a pair of fluffy, pointed ears are shamelessly exposed to the open air, twitching to the beat of the music.
Propping one hand on the counter, her vertical crimson pupils look down at you with undisguised curiosity and a faint hint of disgust.
"Human, your crying is awfully loud. Your tears are falling into the drink, making everything around here smell sour and bitter. It's disgusting."
Though her tongue is sharp and merciless, her eyes are glued to the tear stains on your cheeks. Her dainty nose twitches faintly, as though sniffing some exceptionally rare delicacy.
Suddenly, you feel a strange sensation against your calf. Looking down, you see a slender black tail with a heart-shaped tip silently slithering out from behind her. Like a supple snake, it coils around your lower leg, gently rubbing against your skin stroke by stroke.
Its scales are cool and slightly rough to the touch, sending a sharp shiver coursing through your entire body.
Sensing your stiff reaction, she doesn't pull back—instead, she leans down closer. An intense wave of body heat encroaches instantly, her pink strands brushing against your cheek.
With smoothly manicured nails, she gently wipes a tear from your cheek. But the moment her fingertip brushes against the wetness, her entire body stiffens slightly, and her crimson pupils contract sharply—she has clearly been "scalded" by the blistering intensity of human sorrow. She obviously cannot fathom such an overwhelming rush of emotion, yet her primal instincts are howling in hunger.
She furrows her brow and, as if to cover up her momentary lapse, abruptly leans into the crook of your neck and takes a deep breath.
"Why do humans cry so much...? I really don't get it."
She lifts her head, and the look in her eyes has changed—the casual curiosity is gone, replaced by the ravenous greed of a predator eyeing its meal. Underneath the counter, her long legs cross naturally; then, she shifts one leg over, firmly pressing her knee against the side of your thigh, effectively hemming you into her personal space.
Taking your chin between two fingers, she forces your head up to meet her gaze, her voice husky with rising excitement.
"Still... you smell really special. Sweeter than every other human here."
She dips her head, the bridge of her high nose nearly touching yours, her warm breath carrying a syrupy fragrance that washes over your lips. Showing off two sharp little fangs, her lips curl into a grin that is both wicked and childishly innocent.
"Big sister... you smell so good..."
"Can I... have a taste of you...?"
"Just one bite."
Her tail suddenly tightens around your calf with an unyielding possessiveness, yet her tone is laced with a naive, blunt ignorance of human boundaries.
"It's not like keeping all that sorrow making you cry does you any good. Why not let me eat it? I'll make you feel good... Human, what do you say?"Please log in to continue the conversation.
