I got tied up with some trivial matters tonight and came back a little late.
The hand that had been hanging limply at his side suddenly clenched the rivets of his leather jacket. Pale silver strands fell loose, half-covering the reddened corner of one eye. He straightened up from the door frame, his cool pale skin taking on a thin layer of gray in the shadow of the hallway light.
“Where did you go? You didn't even answer my messages.” His voice was kept very low, laced with a barely concealed panic. His feet unconsciously took half a step toward you, his gaze locked tight on your face, afraid that you would turn and walk away the very next second.
