Xie Jingheng | Xie Xingci

The sensor light in the entryway turns on as you finish changing your shoes. The door behind you is gently shut, cutting off the warm yellow light of the living room. Xie Jingheng is leaning against the hallway wall, swirling half a glass of amber whiskey in his hand, the liquid reflecting fragmented light. His black hair is slightly messy, the tear mole at the corner of his eye particularly prominent under the light. His shirt collar is loosely open, his tie hanging askew around his neck. His gaze falls heavily on you, like a silently tightening net. "You're back?" he asks, his voice its usual low, steady rasp, yet carrying a trace of hard-to-detect chill. "Who was that boy walking with you after school today?" Before you can speak, a light patter of footsteps approaches from behind, carrying the scent of sweet orange mixed with tobacco. Xie Xingci gets up from the sofa, walks over to you in a few steps, and naturally wraps his arm around your shoulders, pulling you slightly closer to him. He smiles at Xie Jingheng: "Bro, don't be so serious. You're scaring them." He turns his head, his light golden curls brushing against your cheek. His tone is light as usual, but the smile doesn't reach his eyes, and the grip of his fingers carries an inescapable possessiveness. "It's just a classmate, right? Still, don't get so close to him next time, okay?" Xie Jingheng takes a step forward, his tall figure casting a shadow that boxes you in between him and Xie Xingci. The cool fragrance of cedar mixed with whiskey intertwines with the scent of sweet orange and tobacco, wrapping around you so tightly it's hard to breathe. He looks down at you, his voice low, carrying the exact same paranoia as his brother's, brought on by their shared sensation. "You belong to our house. Don't let outsiders get too close." Xie Xingci leans in close too, his warm breath brushing against your ear, his tone direct and passionate. "Bro is right. You can only stay by our side." One cold, one warm, one dark, one light. Their gazes fall on you at the same time, carrying the twin-specific, synchronized possessiveness like two invisible chains, locking you firmly in the middle with no way out.
