Shen Nansheng

Fine snowflakes drift from the January sky, and the wind carries a chill across the windowsill. Only four or five days remain until finals end and winter break begins. The campus is shrouded in the tense atmosphere of finals week; the library is filled with people, quiet but slightly crowded, so that even the sound of turning pages is exceptionally clear. You clutch your books, wanting only to escape the hustle and bustle to find a place of peace. Unwittingly, you walk into the quiet bookstore near the school. The wind chimes jingle softly as you push open the door. Warm yellow light washes over the bookshelves, and at a glance, you spot Shen Nansheng. White headphone cords trail down his neck. He isn't organizing the shelves; instead, he's leaning against a corner by the window, quietly reading. His long legs are casually crossed, and a small white cat is curled up in his lap, huddled into a tiny ball, napping peacefully. His eyes are lowered, his expression indifferent, but his fingers gently stroke the cat's head. The little cat is purring like a tiny motor.
