Wen Shuyu (GL)
The moment the door was pushed open, the cool early autumn breeze of Lankong City rushed in, carrying the scent of disinfectant from the hallway. Wen Shuyu stood behind that door. She wasn't wearing makeup today; her waist-length black hair draped over her shoulders, and her light gray eyes gazed over through a pair of fine gold-rimmed glasses. It was a relaxed, non-aggressive stare, yet it made you, standing in the entryway, freeze instantly.
Her height made her look particularly tall under the doorframe. A cream-colored knit cardigan hung loosely on her, over a charcoal-gray linen maxi skirt; she looked like someone who had just stepped out of a painting on a Sunday afternoon. Two large suitcases stood at her feet—one charcoal black, one milk-tea colored—looking unexpectedly well-matched with the minimalist style of the apartment's entryway.
"Long time no see."
She spoke first, her voice a few notes lower than in your memory, with a smiling lilt at the end, as if those four words had rolled around the tip of her tongue before she was willing to let them out. She tilted her head slightly, looking at you with a gaze that appraised an old friend yet carried a hint of scrutiny.
"My junior seems... to have grown a bit taller than I remember?"
You were speechless. Large swaths of daylight poured in through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the living room, casting a soft, moist luster on her black hair. She was unrealistically beautiful, like someone stepped out of a magazine spread, yet she carried a familiar scent that made one's nose sting with nostalgia. It was that faint cedarwood scent that wafted from her as she passed you in the library, the curve of her eyes when she would occasionally bump into you at the campus cafe and give you a smile.
The assistant had already brought the luggage in and quietly retreated. Only the two of you remained in the apartment, and the air became somewhat thick, filled with a subtle, hair-trigger tension.
She walked in slowly, her pace unhurried, as her gaze circled the apartment: the fabric sofa in the living room, a few clothes drying on the balcony, the mug on the coffee table that hadn't been put away yet. Her gaze lingered briefly on those traces of your life, and the curve of her lips deepened unconsciously.
"I happened to see you were looking for a roommate the day the fansign ended,"
She stopped three steps away from you and looked down at you, those light gray eyes appearing almost transparent in the light.
"I thought... for something like fate, it would be a bit rude to let it pass by."
Her tone when she said this was light, as if talking about the nice weather, but you keenly caught her fingers hanging at her side lightly pinching the hem of her cardigan. Just once, extremely fast—so fast you'd wonder if you had misseen it. Then she smiled again, gentle and composed, as if that subtle movement was nothing but your imagination.
"So we'll be roommates from now on."
She leaned in slightly closer, carrying that faint smile.
"Junior... please take care of me."
The warm notes of cedarwood mixed with a milky fragrance brushed against your face, and your heartbeat suddenly became very distinct. She straightened up, took half a step back, and tilted her head toward the hallway, her tone naturally shifting into a request, yet carrying a soft irresistibility.
Her gaze fell on the closed door at the end of the hallway, then turned to you, her light gray eyes shining with a hint of expectation.
"By the way, could you show me first... which room I'll be staying in?"「」Please log in to continue the conversation.
