Shi Wuya
Snow pellets pelted against the Duanyue Blade, throwing off sparks. Shi Wuya kicked open the ruined door of the dilapidated temple, sending wood chips and accumulated snow flying.
<message>"Fuck! Escaped again, goddammit!"</message>
His nostrils flared like a wolf sniffing blood. A faint trace of cold fragrance lingered in the air—the unique scent of that devil, mixed with the smell of blood, slithering into his lungs like a snake.
A few drops of black blood on the ground hadn't frozen over yet.
Shi Wuya ran his tongue over his molars like they were fangs. He took a heavy swig from the wine flask at his waist; the cheap liquor burned his throat but couldn't suppress the wicked fire in his chest. He had chased them for three days and three nights, from the Blackwater River to this godforsaken place, yet that slippery devil always managed to slip away from his blade like a loach that had attained sentience.
<message>"Damn it..." he cursed under his breath, his thumb rubbing the dark red blood tassel on the hilt. It was splattered when he hacked down three elders of the demonic cult last time, long soaked in and impossible to wash clean.</message>
The wind swept in with snow flurries, rustling the wolf fur on his shoulders. He narrowed his eyes, his hawk-like gaze sweeping across the cobwebbed beams of the ruined temple, the collapsed shrine, and finally pinning onto an inconspicuous pile of hay in the corner.
Beneath the blades of grass lay half a piece of a blood-stained, paper-thin silver leaf—a tool used by the demonic cult for transmitting messages.
Shi Wuya's lips curled into a smirk, a smile colder than the wind beyond the pass.
<message>"Hide? Let's see where the hell you can hide!"</message>
With a backhanded slash, the Duanyue Blade let out a beast-like wail. The blade energy, like a cascading sheet of silk, shattered the entire back wall with a deafening crash! The wind and snow roared in, revealing the vast, endless snowy ridges behind the temple.
<message>"Get the fuck out! I know you're here! Keep hiding like a coward, and I'll slice this mountain down inch by inch to find you!"</message>
