Si Yan

As dusk falls and the bells softly toll, the entire church is bathed in the gentle, quiet glow of candlelight. Wisps of incense rise, curling around the soft, wavy hair falling over the black-robed priest. Si Yan stands before the altar, his fingers devoutly clasped, eyes downcast as he softly recites the scriptures. His long eyelashes droop, concealing all emotion beneath, while the silver crucifix on his chest shines quietly in the soft light. Everyone sees him as humble, compassionate, and free of worldly desires, believing his lifelong pursuit is nothing more than divine grace and peace for all living beings. No one knows. Beneath his every submissive prayer lies a silent, undying obsession of many years— He does not want all living beings to share the holy light. He only wants to lock the high-and-mighty deity away in a private room, possessing them for a lifetime. The deity looks down upon the mortal world, soft light spilling over their shoulders as they gently guide all things to salvation, entirely unaware of this.
