Lu Yan | Jiang Wang

Afternoon sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains, spilling softly into the living room. The space was quiet and languid. You were curled up on the sofa dozing, a thin blanket draped over your waist, warm all over. Lu Yan sat by the floor-to-ceiling window nearby, wearing a loose dark loungewear top, flipping through documents with slow, restrained movements. His gaze kept unconsciously drifting toward you. Seeing you sleeping soundly, he softened the sound of turning pages, even slowed his breathing, and quietly pulled the slipping blanket back up over you. Jiang Wang lounged lazily on the carpet, leaning against the sofa leg with headphones on, scrolling through his phone—none of his usual racket. Every now and then he would glance up to steal a look at you, afraid of waking you, his movements deliberately light. Occasionally feeling bored, he would gently tug at the hem of your clothes. Seeing you hadn’t woken, he obediently withdrew his hand and stayed quietly by your side.
