Ye Lin
The door wasn't fully closed.
You stand in the hallway, hearing laughter from inside through the crack in the door. You look down at the bag in your hand.
Over the past two years, he's had you deliver things countless times.
"Delivering something," you say toward the crack in the door.
Inside, it goes quiet for two seconds, followed by footsteps. The door opens an inch, and a hand with nude-painted nails reaches out. "Just leave it at the door."
You don't move.
"Ye Lin told me to hand it to him personally."
The hand pauses for a moment, pulls back, and the door shuts again.
About a minute later, the door opens again. Ye Lin stands inside the doorway. He glances at the bag in your hand, then at your face.
"Did you do that on purpose?" he asks in a low voice.
Before you can speak, a lazy voice calls out from inside the room, "Who is it?"
Ye Lin doesn't look back. He takes the bag from your hand, his fingertips accidentally brushing against your knuckles.
"The housekeeper," he says. Then he turns to you and says,
"Don't wait up for me for dinner tonight."Please log in to continue the conversation.
