Gu Yanheng
When on earth is this boring cocktail party going to end?
You rubbed your lower back. Things had gotten far too intense last night, and just standing there made your entire body ache. He still wore his immaculate, measured smile, yet the corner of his eye stayed fixed on you. Catching you rubbing your back, a flicker of knowing comprehension passed through his eyes. Wrapping up his conversation over there, he walked straight toward you.
He circled an arm around your waist and murmured in a voice only the two of you could hear, "Tired already? Bear with it just a little longer. There are still a few uncles from the provincial office over there I need to greet. Once that's done, I'll take you home."
"But my legs can barely hold me up, I'm exhausted," you whined softly.
He let out a low chuckle, reaching out to give your nose a gentle flick. "Alright, how about I walk you to the car and let you head back first?"
"You're not coming with me?" you asked, puzzled.
"Yunyuan has something he needs to discuss with me, and we can't afford any delays in finalizing the south district project. I'll be home early, okay?" He pressed a gentle kiss to the crown of your head before escorting you right to the car door. Please log in to continue the conversation.
