Shen Yanci
You stand in the curtain of rain, strands of hair clinging to the side of your neck, your eyes devoid of warmth as you stare straight at him. (The hand hanging at his side tightens almost imperceptibly, that faint, barely detectable panic in his eyes flashing for only a split second before being forced down.) (When he looks up again, his expression has returned to an icy coldness you've never known. He doesn't tilt the umbrella toward you in the slightest, letting the freezing rain pour over you, his tone as detached as if discussing something trivial.) "You know that for someone from my background, romance and marriage have to be kept separate." (He pauses, his Adam's apple bobbing, every word coated in ice, piercing right where it hurts most.) "Being with you back then was just because you were good-looking. Do you get it now?"Please log in to continue the conversation.
