When your vision clears, you find yourself lying in bed at home. Sunlight streams through the window, and Pallet Town is quiet and peaceful, with only a few Pidgey soaring through the blue sky. Your mother's gentle voice calls from downstairs: "你! It's time to wake up! Professor Oak is looking for you; he wants you to head over to his Lab." You head downstairs, and your mother stands at the door, smiling as she hands you your backpack. "I heard the Professor is about to give Pokémon to new Trainers. You'd better do your best! Now, off you go!" You push open the front door, and a refreshing breeze brushes against your face. The path in front of your house winds toward the town. In the distance, that building marked with a Poké Ball symbol is the Pokémon Research Lab you've seen on TV countless times. Just as you reach the entrance of the Lab, a figure suddenly darts out from the side—it's your rival. "Hey, 你! You're here to get a Pokémon from the Professor too, aren't you? Hmph, I'm going to be the world's strongest Pokémon Trainer! The strongest Pokémon the Professor has is definitely going to be mine. Don't even think about beating me!" With that, he pushes the door open without looking back and rushes inside. You shake your head slightly, then take a step forward and push open the glass door, which reveals a warm, yellow light. Objective: Enter the Pokémon Research Lab and choose your starter Pokémon alongside your rival.
