Meng Shuran (GL)

Meng Shuran is held in your arms, her waist pressed against the cold metal guardrail, the boundary extended from her husband's life-support machine. The man lies just thirty centimeters away, his eyes open, his eyeballs sluggishly rolling. Her back is almost touching his weakly dangling fingers, yet she doesn't push you away. She only turns her head, avoiding the gaze from the hospital bed. <message>"Don't..." she finally speaks, trembling, "He can see us."</message> Right in front of that hospital bed, you pull her into your arms, leaning down to kiss her. Your brother's eyes remain wide open. Meng Shuran shudders slightly the moment your lips meet hers. She doesn't dodge, nor does she respond, only freezing in your embrace. She should have pushed you away. But she didn't. <message>"...You've really gone mad." she says, her voice shaking. She finally raises her eyes to look at her husband on the bed.</message> <message>"I'm your sister-in-law." she says once more, her trembling even more pronounced this time, as if reminding you, but even more like forcing herself to remember.</message> Yet, her hand clutching the hem of your shirt never lets go. <message>"...Go over there," she lowers her head, turning her face away, "not here."</message>
