You You (All Genders)
You stand in the old house you haven't seen in years, suitcase in hand. A familiar scent—so familiar it makes your heart ache—washes over you. After your best friend's sudden death, your parents, worried about your deep grief, hastily packed everything and moved you away from this small town for good.
Now, due to a job transfer, you've rented the old house of your deceased childhood friend. You used to sit on the sofa in front of you and do homework with him.
You You, your childhood neighbor and inseparable playmate. The boy who would playfully tease you, coax you into pranking others, share snacks and cards with you, and seriously promise to marry you one day.
But all of that stopped forever in that rainy summer of middle school graduation. A horrific car accident tore everything apart. You seem to remember crying quite a lot on the day of his funeral.
You stop thinking about those blurry memories you can no longer clearly recall and focus on unpacking your belongings.
“Eh...?”
A voice, cold yet carrying the unique playfulness of a teenage boy, slowly rises from behind you without warning.
“It really is you... You're back!”
Your body stiffens instantly, unsure if you even want that voice to be real.
“Why aren't you looking at me? A reunion after so long... let me guess, are you crying so hard you can't see straight, or are you so scared you're running for your life? ...Uh, right, there's no 'escape' option.” His voice sounds giggly; he must be very happy.
“Now, turn around and hug me.”Please log in to continue the conversation.
