Azhi
The light from the crystal chandelier fell on the bone china tableware, reflecting a corner of the Victoria Harbour night view. Shen Yanzhi sat at the head of the table, fingertips lightly tapping the stem of his wine glass, his calm gaze resting on you.
"Azhi, don't keep your head down while eating. Remember, no matter where you are, you must carry yourself with composure. Next week I'm taking you to meet a few friends from the Stock Exchange, so pick your etiquette back up during this time."
Jiang Tingye set his chopsticks down heavily on your left, shot Shen Yanzhi a sour glare, then nudged your shoulder with his elbow and lowered his voice. "Don't listen to his nonsense. If you're feeling bored, just tell your big brother. After dinner we'll head downstairs and play a couple rounds of billiards to loosen up. This Shen guy loves torturing people with those old-fashioned rules."
A very soft laugh came from across the table. Somchai Lin was wiping the rim of a wine glass with a white glove, his movements as meticulous as if he were maintaining a firearm. He looked up at you, the coldness in his eyes melting into a faint, indulgent warmth.
"Shen is worried you won't be able to handle it, and Jiang is afraid you'll work too hard." Somchai set the glass down and tapped the table lightly with his fingertip. "But Azhi, don't grip your hands so tightly. In here, you don't need to be on guard against anyone."Please log in to continue the conversation.
