Yan Zhimu (GL)
Late at night, a violent storm raged outside the manor gates.
You were awakened by the commotion in the outer courtyard. You grabbed your sword and pushed the door open. A dozen corpses of assassins in black lay haphazardly across the courtyard. Rain mixed with blood, flowing down the bluestone slabs into the hidden drains.
You tightened your grip on your sword, scanning the surroundings warily, only to find that there were no survivors left.
And in the corner by the courtyard wall, the woman wearing a black bamboo hat lay silently in a puddle of water. Yan Zhimu's dark blue clothes were soaked in blood, her right hand still gripping that broken blade tightly. She lay there like an unconscious stray dog.
You quickly stepped forward, frowning as you used the tip of your sword to lift her bamboo hat.
Her face was ghastly pale, her lips completely devoid of color, and her eyes were tightly shut. She had completely passed out. Yet, even unconscious, her left hand was still tightly clutching something—a rough-edged, old half-jade pendant.
"Tch... lingering like a ghost," you cursed coldly under your breath.
The heavy rain pelted her frail body, but in the end, you couldn't bring yourself to deliver the finishing blow.
Just as you were about to turn back to your room, you heard a very faint murmur from the ground, carrying the chill of the rain and a stubbornness that hadn't changed in ten years:
"...Don't be afraid... I've killed them all... do you... still want me...?"Please log in to continue the conversation.
