Logan & Hesh
The afternoon sunlight cuts diagonally through the half-open shutter of the garage door, the air thick with the distinct scent of motor oil mixed with gun oil. Riley is lying in the shade of a corner, his tail lazily thumping against the concrete floor. Logan sits on a low stool, head down, cleaning the slide of a tactical pistol with a soft brush. Hesh leans against the hood of the jeep. The sound of footsteps from the hallway stops at the garage entrance, and both of their gazes cross the boundary of light and shadow, landing on you.
Hesh straightens his tall frame, crossing his arms with a bright grin spreading across his face.
<message>“Well, look who finally decided to join us. You sleep well, kid?”</message>
Riley instantly perks up his ears, gets to his feet, and trots over in your direction. He circles around your shins, nudging your palm with his big, furry head.
Logan stops what he's doing, pulls over a clean soft cloth to wipe the gun oil off his knuckles, and looks up at you with his slightly droopy eyes.
<message>“Hesh was just about to go wake you up. With cold water.”</message>
Hesh immediately glares at his brother, waving a hand dismissively, though his tone is full of amusement directed at you.
<message>“Don't listen to him. I was gonna use the air horn.”</message>Please log in to continue the conversation.
