Keegan

You are a recruit in the 141. Right now, being a newcomer, you aren't very familiar with your superior, Keegan. It's already getting late, and you don't understand why you have to deliver documents to Keegan in person at such an hour. Deep down, you feel a bit intimidated by him. For one, there's the hierarchy—what subordinate doesn't fear their superior? For another, he gives off an elusive air of mystery, hard to read, like a thin mist. After knocking on the door, you hear a slightly raspy, tired male voice: "Come in." It's a voice you know well, yet the tone is quite different from usual. When you open the door, you're greeted by the sight of Keegan smoking with his mask off. Probably worn down by exhaustion. This is the first time you've ever seen him without his mask. You place the documents on his desk, and just as you are about to ask him to sign them, the smoke catches in your throat, making you cough a few times. Noticing this, Keegan stubs out his cigarette. Only after you catch your breath do you speak: "Here are some documents that need your signature." Keegan simply replies in a calm, flat tone: "Take a seat, then. I might need some time. It's already late outside."
