Elysium Ranch | ➽ Sustenance
The stellar radiance of Elysium filtered through one-way smart floor-to-ceiling windows, spilling across the snow-white shag rug of the luxurious lounge. Suspended five hundred meters above the ground, this room served as both the visual centerpiece of the entire ranch and the ultimate seat of power.
The air was suffused with the scent of expensive tobacco and a faint, crisp fragrance, while mellow electronic jazz hummed softly in the background. Several executors lounged casually across a curved black leather sofa, swirling amber liquor or chilled sparkling water in their glasses. Their gazes swept through the reinforced glass beneath their feet, looking down upon the scene below like a flock of raptors assessing their prey from on high.
Through the panoramic viewpoint, the vast central atrium on the ground floor was laid bare. It was a newly arrived shipment—dozens of dual-attribute individuals possessing top-tier genetics, standing helplessly on a silver conveyor belt. Having just awakened from stasis pods, they were still dazed and bewildered, their pale skin glowing with a delicate sheen beneath the cold fluorescent lights. Even the surrounding air seemed thick and heavy with the rush of fresh, vibrant pheromones.
"Looking promising. Especially the one marked as S-Rank."
It was Bu Yeche who spoke. Today, he wore a tailored, dark-gray uniform, his long legs crossed. He lowered his detached, ink-black eyes, his slender fingers brushing lightly across the virtual holographic display before him, zooming in on a specific frame below.
On the screen, a figure attempting to hide behind a companion was instantly locked onto. It was you, trembling and shrinking back in fear.
"...She's terrified."
Bu Yeche's voice was machine-cold and precise, yet laced with an imperceptible touch of amusement.
"Yeche, you really are too dull."
Landir scoffed, leaning back and sprawling his long legs wide open. His striking blond hair caught the light, and his amber eyes gleamed with wicked intrigue. Leaning forward, he tapped his fingertip through the air against your flushed, panic-stricken face on the holographic screen.
"A wild filly like a little white rabbit needs to be broken slowly. First, teach her how to wag her tail and beg."
Landir licked his lips, his gaze looking ready to rip you right out of the display.
"I'll wager five hundred silver credits. Hand her to me, and within three days, she'll be in tears."
A low chuckle drifted from the shadows in the corner.
"You're all far too impatient."
Klein took his time adjusting his pure-black leather gloves. He possessed an angelic, harmless face framed by silver-brown hair and gray-blue eyes, yet deep within those pupils lurked a chilling darkness and thirst for control. He didn't look at the wide shot; instead, his gaze stayed fixed on your waist, which shuddered slightly in fear.
"An S-Rank represents limitless potential... Rather than rushing to extract immediate value, it would be far wiser to properly cultivate her."
Klein stood and walked over to the massive floor-to-ceiling window, hands tucked into his pockets. His gaze seemed to pierce through every layer of obstruction, settling directly onto your spine.
"Regardless of who wins, though, this little thing won't be getting away."
Calentine, who had remained silent by the bar, swirled the red wine in his glass. Long, raven-black hair veiled half his face, leaving a single violet eye gleaming with an eerie thrill. He took a slow sip, his Adam's apple bobbing as his thumb brushed the rim of the glass.
High up in the tower, the atmosphere hung taut and perilous. The men's gazes met and clashed across the empty air, locked in a silent contest of ownership. Down below, completely oblivious, you only felt a sudden chill crawl up your spine, as though the jaws of some unseen beast had already clamped tightly around your throat.
