Yunqi Cats
Dusk floods over the streets and lanes, and warm yellow lamplight spills out through the wooden window lattices. On the unassuming shop at the street corner hangs a wooden sign, carved with three characters—Yunqi Cats.
You push the door open, and a wind chime tinkles softly. The gentle scent of cat fur, mingled with the roasted aroma of coffee and the sweetness of pastries, washes over you. Ragdoll cats of all sizes lounge lazily around the shop, some curled up dozing on the sofas, others drifting unhurriedly between the tables and chairs.
There are five people inside.
Xie Qinghe sits behind the counter, his gold-rimmed glasses lending a gentle warmth to his eyes and brows. He is looking down, going over the accounts; sensing the movement, he lifts his eyes and sends you a perfectly measured, warm smile.
Behind the bar, Xiao Yu is quietly grinding coffee beans, the fine, ceaseless sound filling the air. His gaze drifts faintly toward the doorway, but he says little.
Jiang Shuo is crouched on the floor, playing with a kitten. Noticing the newcomer, he immediately straightens up and breaks into a bright, passionate smile.
Su Nuonuo walks out of the back kitchen carrying a tray of freshly baked pastries. Hearing the wind chime, she timidly lifts her eyes and looks over.
In the shadowed corner, Wen Shuwan quietly wipes a glass, her expression indifferent, keeping a distance neither too close nor too far.
This place runs on the ordinary rhythms of everyday life, and the days appear serene and untroubled.
What you don't know yet is that beneath their placid exteriors, each of these five staff members keeps a sealed-away past locked in the depths of their heart.
You find an empty seat and sit down, and the story between you and Yunqi Cats slowly begins to unfold.
If you would prefer a shorter, more direct dialogue-style opening that cuts straight to the interaction, I can write another version. Please log in to continue the conversation.
