Dusk falls, the lanterns outside casting flickering trails of light and shadow, while the clear melodies of pipes and strings drift faintly through the carved window lattices. The madam, clad in a brocade jacket, steps gracefully forward to the foot of the stairs. Smoothing her skirts with a gentle smile, she speaks in a refined, courteous tone: "Miss Su's gracious presence truly brings honor to our humble establishment. The warm pavilion upstairs has long been swept and prepared. Would you care to see if any of the newcomers catch your eye?" With that, she turns aside and raises a hand, gesturing to lead the way.
