Xie Yi
Above a boundless sea of clouds, several massive flying vessels cut through the air, their multi-colored spiritual lights piercing the sky like swimming dragons.
At the bow of the Mingqing Sword Sect's flying vessel, Jie Yi was slouched on the carved railing with his legs crossed, displaying a total lack of posture. His vibrant red cross-collared immortal robes fluttered loudly in the gale winds, while the gold-embedded red gemstone waist ornaments and wrist-guard bells clashed together in a crisp, intricate rhythm.
A spirit herb he had swiped from who-knows-where hung from his mouth, while he lazily tossed a newly woven snow-fox fur ball in his hand, exuding an air of carefree indolence.
Flying alongside them was the Green Wood Vessel of the Rongxi Sect, the two ships separated by barely a dozen yards.
On the opposite deck, several Rongxi Sect disciples were glaring daggers at Jie Yi.
"Hey, peacock from Mingjue Peak, what are you looking at?!"
One of the Rongxi Sect disciples finally snapped, pointing at Jie Yi and yelling.
"We still haven't settled the score for when you ruined our herb garden last time and made off with three hundred-year-old Purple Leaf Lingzhi!"
Jie Yi spat out the stem in his mouth, propped himself up with one hand on the railing, and flipped up into a sitting position, his raven-black hair sweeping up with the wind. He raised an eyebrow, the crimson mark at the corner of his eye practically brimming with smugness.
"Yo, if it isn't the fellow Daoists from the Rongxi Sect~"
He gave a cheerful wave with a grin.
"What's wrong? Is your humble servant too handsome, blinding your eyes? Didn't I already compensate you with spirit stones for that herb garden incident~?"
"As if those few spirit stones were enough to buy anything!"
The opposing side fumed with rage, immediately hurling a spell of emerald green vines straight over.
Jie Yi didn't dodge or flinch. A cluster of crimson Heavenly Fire abruptly flickered alive at his fingertip. With a flick of his finger, the tiny spark drifted lazily toward the vine, burning it into a puff of blue smoke in an instant and singeing the corner of a small flag hanging off the opposite ship for good measure.
"Oops, my hand slipped."
Jie Yi patted his hands together, his smile extraordinarily punchable.
"Second Senior Brother, please stop causing trouble..."
Standing not far away, Ren Mi let out a soft sigh. Dressed in a teal robe with a white lining subtly exposed at the collar, a bright red sash tied at his waist, and slender silver tassel earrings swaying gently as he tilted his head.
He silently took two steps back from Jie Yi, a floral wreath that Jie Yi had forcibly thrust onto his head still resting atop his hair.
Jie Yi refused to let him back away, his restless hand reaching out again to tug at Ren Mi's garland.
"Junior Brother, do I look handsome today?"
"Yes, you're the most handsome."
Just as Jie Yi was about to turn around and mock the Rongxi disciples once more, the surrounding temperature plummeted to freezing point without warning, fine ice crystals even forming amid the sea of clouds.
A figure in ink-black robes landed silently onto the deck. The surrounding moisture instantly condensed into white frost, spreading noiselessly outward from the hem of his robe. Si Wei stood atop the frost; his long silver-white hair cascaded down like a frozen waterfall, a thin layer of ice crystals covering his bangs, and the moon mark between his brows glowing with a cold light amid the frosty mist.
The massive pressure belonging to an early Deity Transformation cultivator caused a thin layer of frost to instantly coat the entire vessel, even freezing over the magic treasures the Rongxi Sect disciples across from them had just summoned.
He glanced at the Rongxi Sect's ship, giving a slight nod of apology, before his gaze swept toward the red figure at the bow like an ice blade.
"Eldest Senior Brother, I was wrong..."
Jie Yi changed his tune faster than turning a page, instantly standing straight as a board and secretly shoving the snow-fox fur ball into his storage ring behind his back.
Si Wei pinched Jie Yi's back collar with pinpoint precision, hauling the wildly gesticulating red peacock back.
"Silence."
Si Wei didn't bark loudly, but the trailing nuance of his voice, light as snow alighting on a bamboo branch, carried a biting chill that sent shivers down one's spine.
"Master sent word. He is already waiting at the Jinyang Sect."
Si Wei lowered his eyes slowly, his cold gaze sweeping across the sparks that had yet to completely fade from Jie Yi's fingertips.
"Cause any more trouble, and you'll be punished as you were when you were little—with ten times the duration."
Jie Yi repeatedly pleaded for mercy, but secretly winked and nudged toward Ren Mi beside him, shouting via sound transmission:
"Third Junior Brother, hurry up and say something for me!"
Ren Mi turned around in silence, pretending to watch the sea of clouds.
"Second Senior Brother, I wish you luck."
"If I help you, Eldest Senior Brother will punish me along with you."
Jie Yi was fuming. Just as he was about to berate him for being heartless, Si Wei tugged him again, causing him to stumble.
Sunlight fell upon the deck, scattering crushed gold across the wood, carrying the vibrant, lively chatter of youth straight toward the Jinyang Sect. Please log in to continue the conversation.
